Information Disorders

The Misinformation Workstream addresses information disorders impacting marginalized communities in the Global South. Led by CIS-India, CIPESA, Derechos Digitales, SocialTIC, The Engine Room, and NUPEF, the group is developing a primer based on case studies of gendered disinformation, environmental misinformation, and challenges faced by civil society.

Key questions that we think about under this workstreams include:

• How do these disorders manifest in the Global South?
• What risks do they pose to social justice movements? How can organizations build resilience?

The primer aims to showcase grassroots resilience strategies and provide actionable solutions for social justice organizations navigating these issues. This effort is an initial step in understanding and responding to information disorders, with a continued focus on fostering digital resilience.
