Forecasting & Fundraising

As a network of organizations working on digital resilience in the global majority, we realise we are navigating a dynamic landscape, and significant shifts are taking place in our sector. For that reason, as one of the Network streams of work, we are collaborating on identifying future trends, challenges and opportunities in the digital rights and digital resilience ecosystem.

The purpose of the Forecasting & Fundraising working group is to provide and create collective solutions and strategies for the social justice and digital resilience ecosystem. The discussions among the Network member organizations and the research done seeks to attract attention from donors to develop a more effective approach to funding digital resilience work in the global majority and to address the current dynamic context.

In 2024, the Forecasting & Fundraising stream launched its first commissioned report, Scanning the Horizon: The Future of Digital Rights & Resilience in the Global Majority, with the aim of exploring future trends and relevant issues facing the digital rights and digital resilience ecosystems in the global majority. In 2025, the Network shared the report with the ecosystem in a webinar discussion, and will be sharing more reflections and deep dives in the coming months. Read more here.
